A therapist is an entry-level teaching assistant who will come to your home and implement the programs that the consultant sets forth. Most therapists have at least a high school diploma. The consultant is responsible for training the therapists and providing continuing feedback to them.

  • Most therapists will stay for a long time, and almost become part of your family. There will be others, however, who may not.
  • Recruitment of therapists can be difficult. I’ve found that families who go out of their way to make therapists feel comfortable often have more success getting and keeping therapists than those who don’t. You can use the tools on this site to help you get and keep quality people.
  • DO respect that many therapists attend school, etc…and may need to take some time off during finals or times of high stress.
  • I suggest that you hire at least one experienced person to be the lead therapist who can help guide the younger therapists a bit (and in some ways be my eyes and ears!)
